Assay Type: IHC section
Images
Metanephroi with proximal ureter. Wt1 protein visualised with DAB in orange and Wnt4 RNA visualised with BMpurple in blue.
Metanephros. Note Wt1 protein in subset of early proximal tubules and subset of cortical and medullary interstitium adjacent to collecting ducts.
Cortex & nephrogenic zone. Various nephron stages are represented. Wt1 protein in lower limb and Wnt4 RNA primarily in upper limb of comma- and S-shaped bodies.
Nephrogenic zone. S-shaped body centre and renal vesicles.
Nephrogenic zone.
Maturing and capillary loop renal corpuslces and renal vesicle at right.
Nephrogenic zone. S-shaped body and renal vesicles. Wt1 protein in the visceral and parietal epithelium of the proximal segement of the S-shaped body.
Nephrogenic zone. A subset of the S-shaped body at the border between the proximal and medial segments contains both Wnt4 and Wt1 positive cells. There is no expression in the distal segment.
S-shaped body connected to ureteric tip. No expression detected in the renal connecting tubule.
Medulla and pelvis. Wt1 protein detected in a subset of medullary interstitium adjacent to collecting ducts. Some of these cells overlap with those that express Wnt4 RNA. The Wnt4 pattern appears to be a larger subset of interstitial cells.
